Faith at the Center
Our Catholic Identity
Catholic identity permeates our curriculum guidelines, instruction, and assessments. Curriculum guidelines along with the Archdiocese of Detroit Content Standards provide a template for teachers to provide instruction, and assessments demonstrate that learners have achieved unsurpassed academic success. A process of continuous improvement ensures that curriculum guidelines are regularly examined and updated or revised where needed.
Music gives students the opportunity to explore creativity, self expression, and performance in a fun and engaging environment. Students build foundational music skills through singing, rhythm, movement, and musical exploration while gaining confidence in their abilities. Music also encourages collaboration and helps students develop an appreciation for the role music plays in culture, celebration, and community.
Art encourages students to think creatively, experiment with new ideas, and express themselves through a variety of artistic mediums. Students develop technical skills while strengthening problem solving, attention to detail, and visual communication. Each project provides opportunities for students to build confidence, explore their individuality, and discover new ways to interpret the world around them.
Technology equips students with the digital literacy skills necessary for today's learning environment and tomorrow's opportunities. Students use age appropriate tools to create, collaborate, research, and solve problems while learning the importance of responsible technology use. Technology instruction helps students become confident, thoughtful, and adaptable learners in an increasingly digital world.
Physical Education promotes healthy habits, teamwork, and lifelong wellness through active participation and movement. Students develop strength, coordination, and sportsmanship while learning the importance of perseverance, cooperation, and personal responsibility. Through a variety of activities and games, students are encouraged to build confidence, stay active, and enjoy being part of a team.
Where Faith Comes to Life
Faith is woven into every part of daily life at St. Regis Catholic School. Students begin each day together in prayer and are encouraged to grow in their relationship with God through meaningful opportunities for worship, service, and reflection. Religious education is integrated across all grade levels, helping students deepen their understanding of Catholic teachings and apply them in their daily lives.
As a school community, students attend weekly Mass and participate in Reconciliation and Eucharistic Adoration during the seasons of Advent and Lent. Students also reflect on Christ’s journey through the Stations of the Cross during Lent. Every classroom includes a prayer corner that serves as a visible reminder of God’s presence in daily learning and life. Through prayer, worship, sacramental preparation, service opportunities, and Catholic traditions, students grow spiritually while building a strong foundation rooted in faith, community, and discipleship.

Standardized Assessments
Students at St. Regis Catholic School participate in the Archdiocese of Detroit’s standardized assessment program and consistently perform above state averages. Students take the STAR Assessment three times each year—in the fall, winter, and spring—to measure academic growth and progress. The results provide valuable insights that enable our dedicated faculty to tailor instruction, offer individualized enrichment and support, evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum initiatives, and make informed decisions that strengthen teaching and learning for all students.
Learning Enrichment Center
We believe that children have different gifts and talents, as well as different learning styles. The St. Regis Catholic School Learning Enrichment Center (LEC) will use differentiated instruction to maximize learning for all students regardless of their ability. To appeal to each child’s unique learning style and ability level, we will provide instruction using a variety of experiences and activities. Please see the School Handbook for more details.
Counseling Services
St. Regis Catholic School provides a full-time school counselor available for our teachers, students, and families. Our school counselor:
- Collaborates with administration, teachers, and families while utilizing resources, advocacy, and preventive services to provide academic and emotional support, and personal/social development for all students
- Advocates for students and collaborates with team to set up accommodation plans for individual students
- Conducts classroom observations to provide guidance and support services
- Works with Birmingham Public Schools to coordinate appropriate referrals and services for students
- Provides resources and implements referrals in community based on individual child’s needs
- Prepares and coordinates 8th grade high school applications
